How we work
From site survey to ongoing support
Step 01
Site survey & consultation
We visit the site, understand your goals and constraints, and assess wiring, network coverage and device placement — then recommend what's worth automating first.
Step 02
Solution design & quote
We design the system, choose the right hardware and protocols, and give you an itemised quote covering devices, labour, software and commissioning — no black-box pricing.
Step 03
Installation
Our technicians install and wire the devices — cameras, sensors, controllers, switches and network gear — following electrical and safety standards, with minimal disruption.
Step 04
Integration & commissioning
We connect everything to the app and cloud dashboard, configure scenes, schedules, automations and alerts, test every function and train your team to use it.
Step 05

FAQ
AIoT & smart automation, answered
What is AIoT?
AIoT, or the Artificial Intelligence of Things, is the combination of Internet of Things (IoT) devices with artificial intelligence. Instead of just collecting data, connected sensors, controllers and cameras use AI to analyse it and act — for example, a camera that detects an intrusion, or a system that adjusts lighting and HVAC based on occupancy.
What does SVB Tech Labs offer under SmartNest?
SmartNest is SVB Tech Labs' smart automation division. We are a one-stop integrator that designs, installs, integrates and maintains AIoT systems across 19 solution categories — from smart home, office and building automation to security, energy, water, industrial, agriculture and smart-city projects — plus the cloud dashboards and AI analytics that connect them.
What areas of smart automation do you cover?
We cover smart home, smart office, building automation, security and surveillance, networking, IoT solutions, energy and water management, industrial and agriculture automation, healthcare, education, hospitality and retail, parking, smart city, AI and analytics, robotics, cloud and SaaS, and fully custom development.
Which protocols and technologies do you use?
We build on open standards so systems stay interoperable and future-ready — MQTT, Zigbee, BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy), Wi-Fi and HTTP/REST. Devices connect to a cloud or local platform for monitoring, control and automation.
Which hardware brands do you work with?
We balance cost and reliability by partnering with established brands, including Hikvision and Dahua for cameras and surveillance, Sonoff and Shelly for smart switches and controllers, and Espressif (ESP32) for custom IoT devices. We recommend the right hardware for each project rather than locking you to one vendor.
How does an AIoT project work, from start to finish?
We follow five steps: a site survey and consultation, solution design with an itemised quote, installation, integration and commissioning (connecting to the app, configuring automations and training your team), and ongoing AMC support with remote monitoring and updates.
Can you automate an existing home or building, or only new ones?
Both. Most of our solutions are wireless and designed to retrofit existing buildings — for example, in-wall smart switch modules fit behind your current switches and smart locks replace existing locksets — so you can automate in stages without major rewiring.
Do you provide ongoing maintenance and support?
Yes. We offer Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) that include remote monitoring, firmware and software updates, periodic site checks and priority support, so your system stays reliable long after installation.
What's the difference between smart home and enterprise automation?
Smart home automation focuses on convenience, security and energy savings for residences — lighting, locks, cameras and sensors. Enterprise and building automation adds scale and integration: unified building management, occupancy-based HVAC, access control, energy sub-metering and dashboards for facility teams. SmartNest delivers both.
How do I get started?
Request a free site survey. We'll visit, understand your needs, and recommend what's worth automating first, then give you an itemised quote covering hardware, installation, software and commissioning.
